Description

Ayur-Yoga is individualized, therapeutic yoga that takes each person's unique constitution or its doshic imbalance, as well as seasonal effects into account.  Ingrid Yogita Wengatz, PhD focuses in her yoga classes on gentle movement with breath-work to facilitate relaxation of body, mind and soul and to remove energy blockages from the body.

Restorative Yoga Class - This class is taught at a beginner level and ideal for first time students.  The yoga taught in this class is designed to re-balance the nervous system and nurture the body.  Props like bolsters, blankets and straps are used to facilitate the experience of holding a pose for an extended time period without strain.  It is great for stress management and for people recovering from injuries.

Ingrid Yogita Wengatz, PhD is a NAMA certified Ayurvedic Practitioner, Natural Therapeutics Specialist (NTS), Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and a certified Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance.  Yogita offers at the UNM Center for Life ayurvedic diet and life-style consultations, massage and body treatments, restorative yoga sessions as well as healing mandala art workshops to guide people towards the goal of total well-being of the body, mind, and spirit.
