Yama and Niyama, the first two limbs of the tree of yoga, provide the yogi or yogini with an ethical and disciplined basis upon which to build a yogic lifestyle. We will begin our workshop with the first, and most important of the yamas - ahimsa, non-harming - exploring through discussion how each of the yamas and niyamas can be applied to daily living.

At YogaCrossroads we base our center's Code of Conduct on these foundational concepts, given their level of value and importance.

Also included in this workshop will be a short introduction to the use of Sanskrit terms in yoga.
